In that role, he oversees all business negotiations for the company’s theatrical motion picture side. His deal making includes negotiations with actors, actresses, and behind the camera talent, including producers and directors. Additionally, he also works to acquire the screen rights for screenplays and books from writers and authors, which are then developed into feature films.

Andrew also plays an integral role in negotiating co-financing arrangements for feature films, as well as the distribution agreements for those films, for both the domestic and international markets. The hit feature films Andrew has been actively involved with include “Spider-Man 3,” “SuperBad,” “The Pursuit of Happiness,” “Casino Royale,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “The Da Vinci Code,” and “Click,” to name some.

A native of Scarsdale, New York, Andrew attended Syracuse University and law school at American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. His hobbies and interests include extensive work outs at the gym, running, shooting hoops, playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and three children. He is also an avid golfer.

Andrew Gumpert says, “My relationship with Adam Simon is a friendship at the highest level of trust, confidence and mutual respect. I’ve known him for seven years—he and I just hit it off instantly since we’re both no ‘BS’ kind of guys. Adam has an upbeat personality, and rain or shine, always has a big smile on his face. He has provided me with Asset Management and Long Term Financial Planning with an emphasis on Insurance for myself, wife and three children, Chloe, 7, Jake 5, and Alexandra, 2.”

Since my seven year old daughter Chloe has had Cerebral Palsy since birth, and has had seizure disorders related to her CP, my wife and I became aware of that foundation years ago. We have become heavily involved with that charity, having learned about it through my daughter’s neurology team at UCLA. Also, another of our chosen charities is the Pediatric Epilepsy Project (PEP) at UCLA. Both of these organizations are striving to raise money for epilepsy research and to remedy those who are afflicted with epilepsy. Our most recent big annual gala dinner and golf fundraiser, held at the Wilshire Country Club, raised over $ 800,000 for The Epilepsy Foundation. I am proud to have been one of the organizers of the event, which drew over 450 people.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles is dedicated to increasing public awareness about the many faces of this disease. Epilepsy is a condition in which a person has a seizure -- a change in sensation, awareness, behavior brought about by abnormal discharges in neurons in the brain. Normally, neurons carrying electrical impulses form a network allowing communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Neurons "fire" or send electrical impulses toward surrounding cells, stimulating neighboring cells to fire. In people with epilepsy, too many neurons fire at one time, causing an "electrical storm" within the brain. There are more than 20 different types of seizures. For more information, please see  http://www.epilepsy-socalif.org/

The Pediatric Epilepsy Project at UCLA (PEP) was formed with a single, all-important mission: to raise funds, provide financial support and increase community awareness to help sustain the Division of Pediatric Neurology at UCLA. The mission of the Pediatric Epilepsy Project at UCLA is three-fold: To improve the lives of children with neurological disorders by providing the best clinical care possible based on current knowledge; to conduct cutting edge clinical and basic science research that will advance the care of our patients and give direction to others throughout the world; and to facilitate the development of faculty and train the next generation of pediatric neurologists to lead in clinical care and research. To become part of PEP, to make a donation, or for more information, contact PEP at info@4pep.org and visit http://www.4pep.org
